Before his wheeler dealer story hit the headlines, he hobnobbed with the rich and left the details on his Facebook page for all to see.
It is when he appeared before a parliamentary committee, that Mr Ojwang’ dropped a bombshell that exposed the murky world of wheeler dealers and how they rake in millions of shillings for acting as brokers, middle-men, contract negotiators — or simply for being at the negotiating table.
A former personal assistant to Cord leader Raila Odinga, he told the committee that he had been shunted aside in a deal that would have seen a Chinese company renovate the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
In the original deal, Mr Ojwang’ said the project would have cost Sh17 billion and that after it had allegedly been grabbed from him, that sum shot to Sh28 billion. For his “efforts”, he expected to walk away with more than Sh800 million.
He blamed his woes on Deputy President William Ruto, who told off both the businessman and Mr Odinga.
